Worker rights
Employers may not like it, but workers in the United States do have rights, and Illinois provides some additional protections. Worker's rights can be thought of in these general categories:
- Collective organizing
- Wage and Hour laws
- Discrimination
- Immigrant protections
- Domestic workers
- Child Labor
- Human Trafficking
- Day and Temporary Labor
- Unemployment Insurance
- Workman's Compensation
Casa DuPage Worker Center recommends that all workers educate themselves about their rights. An excellent resource is the Workers Rights Manual available from Arise Chicago.
